Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the onions and garlic in a skillet until soft.
  3. Combine the heavy cream, cheese, sautéed onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, overlapping them.
  5. Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
