- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a gentle hand.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft and gooey.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
