Description

Delicious, warm cinnamon apple fritters that are easy to make and perfect for cozy fall gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples, making sure they’re well distributed throughout the batter.
  5. In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Using a spoon, carefully drop dollops of batter into the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Once fried, remove the fritters and drain them on a paper towel.
  9. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm fritters before serving.

Notes

Try adding dried cranberries for a zesty kick or pumpkin spice for a seasonal twist.
