- 2 cups warm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, flour, salt, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth for the frosting.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls. Serve fresh, and watch them disappear!
Notes
You can prepare the dough a day in advance and let it rise in the fridge overnight. Use dental floss for slicing rolls neatly.
