Description

Delicious and easy-to-make cranberry crumble bars with a sweet-tart filling and buttery crust, perfect for autumn gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until smooth and buttery. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until well combined.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
  5. Combine the cranberries, brown sugar, and orange zest in another bowl, then spread this filling over the crust.
  6. Crumble the remaining crust mixture on top of the cranberry layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before drizzling with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
  9. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Make them ahead and store for up to 3 days at room temperature. Freezes well.
