Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ lb sirloin steak (or ribeye, strip steak, or tenderloin)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil (or your favorite cooking oil)
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil (or olive oil)
- 4 garlic cloves (peeled)
- 1 pitted medjool date (or 2 tsp maple syrup)
- 1 inch fresh ginger
- Optional: 2 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili pepper flakes)
- For garnish: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions
Instructions
- Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes and place them in a resealable bag.
- Prepare the marinade by blending the coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, garlic, medjool date (or maple syrup), fresh ginger, and optional gochugaru until smooth.
- Marinate the steak cubes with the marinade in the bag. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Drain the marinated steak and discard the marinade.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked to your preference.
- Alternatively, preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the steaks for about 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
Marinating overnight enhances the flavor. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
