Description

Juicy, tender cubes of steak infused with a delightful marinade, making for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lb sirloin steak (or ribeye, strip steak, or tenderloin)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil (or your favorite cooking oil)
  • 1/2 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil (or olive oil)
  • 4 garlic cloves (peeled)
  • 1 pitted medjool date (or 2 tsp maple syrup)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • Optional: 2 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili pepper flakes)
  • For garnish: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes and place them in a resealable bag.
  2. Prepare the marinade by blending the coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, garlic, medjool date (or maple syrup), fresh ginger, and optional gochugaru until smooth.
  3. Marinate the steak cubes with the marinade in the bag. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Drain the marinated steak and discard the marinade.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked to your preference.
  6. Alternatively, preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the steaks for about 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Marinating overnight enhances the flavor. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
