Description
This Easy Taco Salad is a quick, no-bake dish packed with fresh ingredients, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup corn (fresh or canned)
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- Optional toppings: jalapeños, cilantro, tortilla chips, or lime wedges
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s nicely browned. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning according to the package instructions. Set aside to cool a little.
- Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef simmers, chop the romaine lettuce and slice the cherry tomatoes. Dice the avocado and rinse the black beans.
- Assemble the Base: In a large bowl, layer the chopped romaine lettuce at the bottom, creating a fluffy green base.
- Add Toppings: Top the lettuce with the seasoned beef, black beans, corn, tomatoes, and diced avocado.
- Dress It Up: In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream and salsa to create your creamy dressing. Drizzle this over the salad for an extra layer of flavor.
- Finish with Cheese: Top everything off with a generous handful of shredded cheese, and add crushed tortilla chips for an irresistible crunch!
