Description

A cozy Hamburger Potato Casserole that layers creamy potatoes with juicy ground beef and savory cheese, baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (halal)
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat; season with salt and pepper, cooking for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Mix in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish; sprinkle with salt and pepper and add half of the beef mixture.
  5. Add half of the shredded cheese on top, then repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 30 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen before baking.
