An adorable twist on classic southern comfort food, these Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits feature crispy fried chicken hugged by warm, fluffy biscuits and drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (for marinating)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 teaspoons hot honey (or to taste)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt for the biscuits. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the buttermilk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits with a round cutter.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and carefully place the biscuits on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and delightful.
- While the biscuits are baking, marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 30 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Dredge each marinated chicken thigh in this flavorful flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat enough vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- To prepare the hot honey sauce, mix honey with hot honey or additional hot sauce to taste.
- Serve the crispy fried chicken on warm biscuits, drizzled generously with the hot honey sauce.
