- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until all are well coated.
- Add the butter to your Instant Pot and select the ‘Sauté’ mode. Once melted, add the cinnamon-coated apples and give them a gentle stir.
- Pour in the water, and add the vanilla extract if desired.
- Close the lid of the Instant Pot, set the pressure release valve to sealing, and cook on ‘Manual’ high pressure for 1 minute.
- Once the cooking time is up, carefully perform a quick release of the pressure and serve warm.
Notes
These apples can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Mix and match apple varieties for different flavors.
