Description

A tender, juicy filet mignon cooked to perfection, reminiscent of a cozy steakhouse right at home.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6–8 oz) filet mignon steaks, 1.5–2 inches thick
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F.
  2. Pat the steaks dry and season with salt and pepper; let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steaks for 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Add butter, garlic, and thyme; baste the steaks for about a minute.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 8–12 minutes.
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for 10 minutes.

Notes

Feel free to use different oils or herbs according to your preference. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days.
