Description

A healthy and crunchy snack made from fresh cucumbers seasoned with salt and vinegar, transformed into crispy oven-baked chips.


Ingredients

  • 2 large cucumbers
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil (for brushing)
  • Optional: herbs like dill or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
  2. Slice the cucumbers thinly, aiming for about 1/8 inch thick, and place them in a bowl.
  3. Combine the white vinegar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a separate bowl. Mix well and pour this mixture over the cucumbers.
  4. Allow the cucumbers to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the cucumber slices from the vinegar mixture and pat them dry with paper towels.
  6. Arrange the cucumber slices in a single layer on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the slices lightly with olive oil.
  8. Bake in the oven for 1-2 hours, watching closely until they turn crispy and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the chips cool on the baking sheets.
  10. Garnish with optional herbs and serve as a healthy chip alternative.

Notes

For best results, use a mandoline slicer for even thickness, and adjust baking time based on your preference for crunchiness.
