Description
A cozy comfort food classic with layers of tender, cheesy goodness and rich marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- Lasagna noodles
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 pound ground beef (or sausage)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef (or sausage) with the chopped onions and minced garlic. Stir until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Drain the excess fat.
- Layer in your slow cooker! Start with a scoop of marinara sauce, then break lasagna noodles into pieces and spread them over the sauce.
- Add dollops of ricotta cheese, a sprinkle of mozzarella, and your browned meat mixture. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used up, ensuring the mozzarella cheese is on top.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the layers.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it on low. Cook for about 240-360 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and the cheese has melted into a golden-brown topping.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving to help the layers set.
