Description

A delightful twist on classic burgers, these Smash Burger Tacos combine juicy beef patties with warm flour tortillas for an interactive, kid-friendly meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • Ketchup and mustard, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into balls.
  3. Place the meatballs on the hot skillet and use a spatula to smash them down into thin patties.
  4. Season the patties generously with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  6. Warm the flour tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
  7. Assemble by placing a smashed burger on each tortilla, topping with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and diced onions.
  8. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard for that classic finish.
  9. Fold the tortillas over the fillings, and enjoy!

Notes

Prep patties in advance for quicker cooking. Leftover smashed patties can last in the fridge for up to three days.
