A delightful twist on classic burgers, these Smash Burger Tacos combine juicy beef patties with warm flour tortillas for an interactive, kid-friendly meal.

- 1 pound ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- Ketchup and mustard, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Place the meatballs on the hot skillet and use a spatula to smash them down into thin patties.
- Season the patties generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Warm the flour tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
- Assemble by placing a smashed burger on each tortilla, topping with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and diced onions.
- Drizzle with ketchup and mustard for that classic finish.
- Fold the tortillas over the fillings, and enjoy!
Notes
Prep patties in advance for quicker cooking. Leftover smashed patties can last in the fridge for up to three days.
