Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat and drain the excess fat.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until combined.
  5. Fill each pepper with the meat and rice mixture, packing it in well.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish, standing them upright.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They reheat beautifully in the oven.
